Africa is no longer a continent that simply receives help. 

Across the globe, we are witnessing a growing movement of shared growth and joint solutions—a new model of partnership in action. 

From the United Nations and international organizations to governments, global NGOs, and corporations, stakeholders are working hand in hand with Africa across a wide range of fields: education, healthcare, climate action, technology, and human rights.

This page introduces the many real-world efforts and stories that highlight the world’s journey with Africa—not for Africa.
And within this movement, we, too, are connected—as citizens of a shared global future.

1. OECD DAC Countries: Advancing Sustainable Development in Africa

  • The OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) member states provide substantial Official Development Assistance (ODA) to Africa each year, supporting sustainable development in key areassuch as education, healthcare, clean water, infrastructure,
    It supports sustainable development across various sectors.

  • As of 2022,approximately 33% of total ODA from DAC members was concentrated
    in sub-Saharan Africa,
    with key donor countries including the United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the EU, and Japan. .

  • More recently, DAC members have moved beyond traditional aid, focusing on structural partnerships that promote long-term change—such as climate resilience, digital transformation, and women’s empowerment.

2. ACFTA: The African Continental Free Trade Area

  • The African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA), officially launched in 2021, is a landmark trade agreement encompassing all 55 African Union member states. With a population of approximately 1.4 billion, ACFTA constitutes the world’s largest single market. Its primary goals include the elimination of tariffs, regional market integration, and shared economic growth across the African continent.

  • Through this initiative, Africa aims to strengthen intra-continental trade and reduce reliance on external economies—promoting a self-reliant, opportunity-driven development strategy. Governments and global investors alike are increasingly recognizing Africa as a new frontier of economic potential.

3. Major Global Powers: Strategic Approaches to Africa

    focusing on healthcare, education, and democratic governance.In addition, the “Prosper Africa” initiative aims to boost private investment by connecting African businesses with U.S. investors.

  • 🇨🇳 China: Through the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC),
    China positions Africa as a central axis in its Belt and Road Initiative,linking infrastructure development, resource trade, and aid
    .

  • 🇷🇺 Russia: Through African summits, efforts are being made to expand influence by emphasizing food security, arms trade, and energy cooperation

  • 🇯🇵 Japan: Japan leads its Africa engagement through TICAD (Tokyo International Conference on African Development),.
    promoting a development philosophy centered on human security, supported by ODA and technology cooperation.

4. Africa’s Voice Grows Stronger on the Global Stage

  • African nations are increasingly asserting their own agendas—from climate change and food security to fair trade and debt relief—at key global forums such as the G20, BRICS, and COP summits.

  • The African Union (AU) has been officially admitted to the G20, and African leaders are calling for reforms in global institutions like the World Bank and IMF to reflect a more equitable multilateral order.

    but an active partner in international cooperation..
